Funerals & Memorials

Comfort, Hope, and a Celebration of Life

At St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Duncan, BC, we stand with you in your time of grief. We believe that a funeral or memorial service is a sacred time to give thanks for the life of a loved one, to find comfort in the promise of the Resurrection, and to surround the grieving with the love of the church family.

Our Support for You

When a loved one passes, Pastor Daniel and our care team are here to guide you through the process of planning a service that honours their memory and rests in the hope of the Gospel.

We offer:

  • Service Planning: Guidance in selecting scripture, hymns (coordinated with our Music Ministry), and a structure that reflects the unique life of your loved one.
  • Grief Support: Pastoral care and counselling for the family during the days and weeks following the loss.
  • Reception Fellowship: Depending on availability, our Ladies Fellowship or volunteers can often assist in hosting a simple reception in the Fellowship Hall to allow friends and family to gather and share memories.
  • The Memorial Garden:

The Promise of Faith

While we mourn, we do not mourn as those without hope. Our services are centered on the truth that "neither death nor life... shall be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." — Matthew 5:4
